Year of Prayer

Pope Francis has called on Catholics around the world to dedicate 2024 to prayer, in preparation for the Jubilee Year. The Pope has asked the faithful ‘to pray more fervently to prepare ourselves to live properly this grace-filled event and to experience the power of hope in God.’ The Faith Development Group are arranging a series of events/occasions to help us, as a parish community, renew and refresh our commitment to prayer.
If you missed the previous events and would like to read about them please click here for a summary.

Lectio Divina in Church hall

Lectio Divina, or sacred reading, is an ancient way of listening to Scripture. It is a slow, prayerful digesting of God’s Word. In this Year of Prayer, the Faith Development group would like to offer an opportunity for parishioners to experience a session of Lectio Divina on Thursday 11July, 2pm in the church hall. The session will last for about 40 minutes followed by tea and coffee.
