Lenten events

Lenten Lunch

The soup went down very well with many people going for seconds.  Cynthia’s leek and potato was in particularly high demand!  Afterwards we watched the very inspiring film Generation Hope all about Mary’s meals.

On the day we raised £124.10 with an additional donation from someone in the parish bringing the total to £224.10!  That’s another 16 children who will be fed for an entire year!

Thank you to all who attended and made it such a huge success and to the big team of helpers.

Reflection on ‘The washing of the feet’

On Thursday 22 March a number of parishioners met at Cynthia Crewe's house to reflect on the painting of ‘The Washing of Feet’ by Sieger Koder.

Cynthia guided by through each part of the painting allowing us to discover things we didn't see at first glance, for example, the reflection of the face of Jesus in the bowl of water.

In discovering more about the painting we thought about our mission of service to others and how this is reflected in our daily lives.

Tea and biscuits rounded off this prayerful evening.

A big thank you to Cynthia for organising the event and inviting us into her home.
